Welcome to

McGregorGregor - one of the jewels of South Africa. The village of McGregor has been described as "the best preserved and most complete example of mid-nineteenth century townscape in the Cape Province".

Its mild climate makes it one of the most delightful places to spend time during the southern hemisphere's "cold" months. Mainly dry, and generally balmy, McGregor's winters are charming.  And in summer, the constant sunshine makes McGregor a great place to visit for a taste of African heat - in a civilised environment.

That's McGregor, with its  traditional, whitewashed, thatched cottages, its quiet streets, mountains, birdlife, wine, charming and balmy winters, and hot, hot summers.

Time passed ..........

The latest Museum Group research into the history of the Kampterrein, McGregor's first secondary school and current home of the McGregor Waldorf School, is now on display in the Library.  Previous library displays (such as those on the Boesmanskloof Pass and Paul Cesar) can be viewed in the Museum.

Unexpected Continental Drift Hits McGregor

Even by McGregor standards, this is strange, verrrry strange.  The village has always been less than 50km from Worcester, a fact that can be checked on any map. Now, all of a sudden, the village is over the 50km mark ............!
