Our teachers are all committed individuals who implement or who are inspired by the Waldorf curriculum out of an understanding of the child’s development.
They are creative and flexible in that they are able to adapt their teaching to accommodate the needs of an individual child or group of children.
They hold the children in reverence and work together to guide each child appropriately.
In Primary School the teacher ‘grows up’ with his/her class until they reach class 6. All teachers are trained in Waldorf pedagogy and have many years of experience.
In High School a teacher becomes guardian of one class and teaches his or her subject to all classes. All teachers have a conventional training in their subject which some have supplemented with a Waldorf training.
All teachers are encouraged to develop their understanding of Waldorf Pedagogy through attending the weekly study at the College of Teachers meeting and any workshops, conferences or training sessions organised by the Federation of Waldorf Schools.
